Part Time Small Business Tax Accountant

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll prep and quarterly-year end reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger knowledge, and financial statement preparation/analysis
  • Delivery of high-quality, personable accounting service when contacting and advising small business clients
  • Perform easy to intermediate level tax research along with accounting software projects and compose comprehensive memoranda
  • Provide business clients with customer support on accounting transactions using QB Desktop and QB Online, along with ACS client access
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as independently on both non-recurring and ongoing projects
  • Participate in networking and business development activities on behalf of the firm

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in accounting software such as Quickbooks, Accounting CS, UltraTax, File Cabinet
  • Experience in Payroll, Sales Tax, MyTax Illinois
  • Experience in preparing Financial Statements for Business Tax Returns, On-line Banking, Bank Data Feeds, Bank Reconciliations – Journal Entries
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Have previously handled and resolved IRS and IL DOR tax notices
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to work with confidential information and consistently exercise good judgment in dealing with a variety of situations and issues
